 Code of Conduct for a Safe and Family-Friendly Experience

Welcome to the Yonkers Comic Con Cosplay Fashion Show! To ensure a fun, safe, and inclusive experience for all participants and attendees, we ask everyone to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

General Guidelines

  1. Respect for All: Treat fellow participants, attendees, and staff with kindness and respect. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

  2. Family-Friendly Environment: Costumes and behavior must be appropriate for all ages. Avoid costumes that are excessively revealing, contain offensive language or symbols, or depict graphic violence.

  3. Personal Space: Respect the personal space of others. Do not touch anyone or their costume without explicit permission.

Costume and Prop Safety

  1. Safe Costumes: Ensure that your costume allows you to move safely and does nnot pose a hazard to yourself or others. Avoid using materials that could cause injury, such as sharp edges or heavy components.

  2. Prop Approval: All props must be inspected and approved by event staff. Props that resemble real weapons must have an orange safety tip and be clearly marked as non-functional.

  3. No Real Weapons: Real weapons, including firearms, knives, or any other dangerous items, are strictly prohibited.

Performance and Participation

  1. Appropriate Behavior: Performances should be suitable for a general audience. Avoid lewd gestures, offensive language, and overly aggressive behavior.

  2. Time Limit: Respect the time limits for your performance or presentation to ensure the smooth flow of the show.

  3. Pre-Show Briefing: Attend the mandatory pre-show briefing to understand the event logistics and safety procedures.

Conduct During the Event

  1. Follow Instructions: Comply with all instructions from event staff and security personnel. They are there to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment.

  2. Emergency Situations: In case of an emergency, follow the event staff's directions and proceed calmly to the designated safety areas.

  3. Alcohol and Substance Use: The use of alcohol and illegal substances is prohibited during the event. Participants under the influence will be asked to leave.

Reporting Issues

  1. Report Misconduct: If you witness or experience any form of harassment or misconduct, report it immediately to event staff or security.

  2. Zero Tolerance Policy: Yonkers Comic Con has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and abusive behavior. Violators will be removed from the event and may be banned from future events.

By participating in any of the Yonkers Comic Con events, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Let's work together to create a positive, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone!
